Restaurants in Jefferson Parish are among some of the finest eating establishments all across southern Louisiana. Many of the areas in Jefferson Parish have a rich cultural history, where various dishes have played a part in creating the diversity of available dining experiences.

Many restaurants offer the traditional po’ boy made famous in New Orleans. This includes the Louisiana oyster po’ boy, with its own unique flavor. Most of the local restaurants in Jefferson Parish offer upscale dining or a casual food experience.

New Orleans Foods & Spirits

Situated in Harvey, Louisiana, in Jefferson Parish, the New Orleans Food & Spirits Restaurant offers traditional southern Louisiana fare. From their catfish platter, to their Redfish Pontchartrain entrée, the restaurant is known for quality cooking. Guests enjoy Catfish “Loozianne”, topped with the rich Creole crawfish stew and a side bowl of gumbo soup. Even the stuffed eggplant is loaded with crab meat and smothered in their rich Pasta Lafayette Sauce. The Blackened Ribeye is a local favorite as is the standard New Orleans style Po’ boy sandwiches, offered in catfish, shrimp or oyster. Visitors should be sure and order the crawfish corn soup flavored with a creamy bisque, or the seafood “gumbeaux” loaded with crab meat and shrimp.

Chef Ron’s Gumbo Stop

From entrées, soups, sandwiches, salads and appetizers, Chef Ron’s gumbo stop is one of the local favorites in Metairie, Louisiana. Located on Causeway Blvd., Metairie, the gumbo stop offers a variety of entrées including Bayou shrimp, red beans and rice, blackened redfish, crawfish etouffee and down-home Southern style fried chicken. Obviously recognized for their amazing gumbo, they offer three varieties including mumbo gumbo, sausage & chicken gumbo and seafood. Along with the gumbo it is important to try their traditional New Orleans style Po boy sandwich loaded with oysters. They also offer home-roasted gravy-styled beef Po boy sandwiches along with torpedoes (fried oysters, fried shrimp, pulled pork, turkey, barbecue shrimp, roast beef) and turkey clubs.

Fausto’s Bistro

Fausto’s Bistro has been located on Veterans Boulevard, in Metairie Louisiana since 1990. Since opening they have offered the finest Italian-Sicilian traditional food in the area. However, they still provide the traditional New Orleans red beans and rice, in both a pan-fried chicken breast or smoked sausage variety. They are famous for their southern Louisiana crab meat seafood balls and marinated crab claws and serve fresh gulf fish every day, along with a wide variety of chicken and veal entrées. Fausto’s Bistro is one of the local favorites, with traditional Italian minestrone soup served every day.

Kenner Seafood

Situated just a few miles west of New Orleans, in Jefferson Parish, Kenner Seafood offers real southern Louisiana Creole style cooking. Their entrées are available in fried, grilled, boiled and fresh varieties. They serve fresh crawfish and shellfish and locally caught Gulf Coast fish every day. Guests enjoy traditional southern Louisiana fried okra and jalapeno hush puppies along with Oysters Bordelaise and soft shell Crab Bordelaise. They offer a full line of seafood pasta dishes and fried plates. Guests can order blackened or grilled catfish, grouper, tilapia, redfish, chicken breast, pork chops and shrimp.
